Worth Waking Up For

There are mornings when it is just too hard to get up—or even just open your eyes. These may be those days when you know you have to do something you dread, may it be your big exam or report, having to move out from your home of decades, having your parents separate. And sometimes, these are days when you don’t know why you have to wake up anymore. When every thing seems okay, you’re blessed than most of the population, and yet there is that hollow feeling that you can’t explain, and it’s eating you up inside, and you just want to lay in bed all day—or maybe wish to not wake up at all.

Hang on.

Things may not turn for the better in an instant, but they will. If it’s taking too long, search for the little things, those little reasons why you have to get up in the morning. It may be because you promised to meet someone over lunch, promised to run an errand for your mom—anything. Pile up those things, especially those that make you feel better, until one day, you’re really okay. Look for the things/people worth waking up for.

Until you feel better, just hang on.
