Hope this Entry Finds You Well

Three months before my birthday. Today actually was one of the dates we considered to have a small wedding ceremony. Thankfully, we decided to do it earlier—it rained today and work had been hell for me for the whole month.

Oh yes, I got married!

Planning for the wedding had been quite interesting. It took us more than a year since getting engaged. The original plan was out-of-town—WAY out of town. We were looking forward to hopping in a small plane and enjoying picturesque views with close family and friends in the northernmost part of the country. Everything was set: we were about 4 or 5 days away from our flight when everything was cancelled and the country (and the whole world) fell through a pandemic.

Ugh, the pandemic. But wait, I’ll finish about the wedding first.

So anyway. Long story short: we grieved, felt lost. Then we picked ourselves up and finally got married one fine day in July, with three days of planning and 10 guests. It wasn’t what we had in mind, but it was definitely something. Starting our lives together (officially anyway) was what we really wanted, and we’re thankful to have had our families’ support, and great pictures to look back to. Everything just fell into place on our wedding day, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

And now, we are into our new project, as part of our new chapter! Hopefully the project will be finished before the year ends.

So as I have said, the world’s still going through a pandemic. The country’s on lockdown for more than 6 months now. Unfortunately, our government didn’t and still doesn’t have any concrete plans to overcome it—don’t get me started.

Personally, I’ve been lucky, still with a stable job and financial means. It sucks, however, that the stress brought about by working from home is over the top. I’ve been lucky to have good supervisors but unlucky with regard to clientele. I’m just counting the days until September ends and my workload lessens.

In my extra time tonight, I’ve looked back at my studying-abroad stint. It’s been 6 years! Funny how it seems that it was only yesterday. Looking forward to the day people will get to travel openly again. I’ll definitely go back to my second home.

Regarding the title of this post:

Irritated with people starting their emails with the line “I hope this email finds you well” especially when you know their email means more work for you.

No, the email does not find me well. We’re in a pandemic, for crying out loud.
